Smarta Energy Celebrates Two Years of Growth, Partnership and Purpose

From a bold idea in Leeds to a growing energy consultancy supporting businesses across the UK, Smarta Energy marks its second anniversary.
Smarta Energy is celebrating its second anniversary, marking two years of growth, collaboration and meaningful impact across the UK energy sector.
Since launching in April 2024, Smarta Energy has grown from its co-founders into a team of more than 39 people, building a business focused on helping organisations take control of their energy costs, improve efficiency and approach energy as a strategic part of their operations.
In just two years, the Leeds-based energy consultancy has developed strong relationships across the sector, working with leading suppliers including ENGIE, EDF, Valda Energy, npower and Crown Gas & Power, while also supporting high-profile clients.
But for Smarta Energy, the milestone is about more than business growth. It is also a moment to reflect on the people, partnerships and values that have shaped the company so far.
Two Years of Building the Smarta Way
Smarta Energy was created to offer businesses a more proactive, commercially focused approach to energy.
In a market shaped by volatility, rising costs and increasing sustainability expectations, the company has worked to move clients beyond traditional, transactional energy services.
Through energy management, procurement expertise, on-site generation and infrastructure support, Smarta Energy helps organisations view energy not simply as a fixed cost, but as something that can be understood, controlled and optimised.
Over the past two years, this approach has supported businesses across multiple sectors, helping clients navigate a complex market with greater confidence.
Key areas of support include:
Electricity and gas procurement
Energy management and monitoring
Bureau services and billing support
Risk management and market insight
Sustainability and compliance support
On-site generation opportunities
Infrastructure and delivery-led energy solutions
This practical, hands-on approach has helped establish Smarta Energy as a growing name within the UK energy sector.
Partnerships That Reflect Progress
Collaboration has been a major part of Smarta Energy’s journey. The business has built relationships with suppliers, partners and clients who share its focus on practical delivery, transparency and long-term value. Its ongoing partnership with Fulham Football Club Limited has been a key milestone, demonstrating Smarta Energy’s ability to support complex, high-profile organisations with strategic energy support.
These partnerships reflect the company’s wider ambition: to provide businesses with more than advice, by helping them make informed energy decisions and deliver solutions that work in the real world.
A Team That Has Grown With the Business
One of Smarta Energy’s biggest achievements over the past two years has been the growth of its team.
From its founding directors to a team of more than 39 employees, the company has continued to invest in people, skills and culture. This growth has not only increased the company’s capacity to support clients but has also created opportunities for people entering the energy sector.
In a competitive job market, Smarta Energy has supported interns and placement students, giving them hands-on experience within a fast-moving industry. One internship successfully progressed into a full-time role, while another intern used the experience gained at Smarta Energy to secure a position closer to home. The company has also welcomed placement students ahead of their return to university, with plans to continue creating opportunities for future interns.
This people-first approach has become an important part of the company’s identity.
One Smarta Energy employee said:
“I’ve been genuinely blown away by the support I’ve received since joining Smarta. Lee and Kieran, in particular, go above and beyond. As long as you communicate, they’ll do everything they can to support you. It’s great to feel recognised for your hard work, while also having that understanding if you’re ever struggling. I wish more workplaces were like this.”
Smarta Energy has built a culture centred around flexibility, communication and support, recognising that growth is not only about numbers, but about creating an environment where people feel valued.
Giving Back to the Community
Community support has been a consistent thread throughout Smarta Energy’s first two years.
The company has developed an ongoing partnership with Cash for Kids, supporting disadvantaged children and families across North and West Yorkshire. Over the past six months, Smarta Energy has raised £3,707 for the charity, with fundraising activity ranging from volunteering to large-scale challenges.

Recent initiatives include the “Running 9–5 for Cash for Kids” fundraiser, where Group Managing Director Kieran Dixon completed a 74km treadmill challenge in a single working day. The event brought together colleagues, suppliers and partners across the energy sector, while also supporting environmental impact through the planting of 74 trees (due to be planted in July by a team of Smarta volunteers), one for every kilometre completed.
The team has also supported Mission Christmas, helping pack gifts for more than 600 children across the region in 2025, with plans to return to the Cash for Kids warehouse in 2026!
And, in true Smarta fashion, fundraising has not always been quiet or conventional.
Over the past two years, the team has taken part in a range of charity and team-building activities, including:
An 8-hour treadmill challenge
Mission Christmas volunteering
Fundraising initiatives for Cash for Kids
Team challenges and supplier involvement
Charity activities that have seen employees throw pies at Smarta Energy directors, all in the name of raising money for a good cause, at least, that's what the Marketing team said...
These moments have helped bring the team together, while reinforcing the company’s belief that business success should go hand in hand with community impact. There's no point building a business if it can't benefit the community it operates in.
A Milestone Worth Celebrating
Kieran Dixon, Group Managing Director at Smarta Energy, said:
“Reaching two years is a significant milestone for us as a business. We’ve built strong foundations in a short space of time, but more importantly, we’ve built a team and a network of partners that share the same mindset, delivering real, practical value for our clients.
The energy market continues to evolve, and with that comes both challenge and opportunity. Our focus is on helping businesses navigate that complexity with confidence, while continuing to grow in a way that stays true to our values.”
The company’s second anniversary provides an opportunity to recognise not only how far Smarta Energy has come, but also the values that continue to shape its future: partnership, practical delivery, community support and a commitment to doing things differently.
Looking Ahead
As Smarta Energy enters its third year, the business is focused on continuing its growth trajectory and expanding its capabilities across energy management, on-site generation and infrastructure delivery.
The aim is to support more organisations in reducing energy demand, improving resilience and taking greater control of how energy is used and delivered.
For Smarta Energy, the next chapter is not just about growing bigger. It is about continuing to build a business that delivers meaningful value for clients, supports its people and contributes positively to the community around it, even if that does mean throwing pies at the directors again.
Two years in, the foundations are strong, and the journey is only just beginning.
