Resolving Complex Historic Billing Dispute
Persistence, Precision, and Client-First Thinking Led to Energy Billing Victory
A Long-Standing Challenge with No Clear End in Sight
GH Burgers, a respected client in the food service industry, faced a persistent and financially damaging issue with its energy supplier, Engie Energy. Historical billing discrepancies had remained unresolved for a significant period, leading to significant operational disruption and
financial strain.
Despite numerous attempts by GH Burgers to correct the issue through standard supplier channels, the case had stalled. The supplier offered no clear resolution and no progress. What GH Burgers needed was not just another intermediary; they needed a committed partner to cut through the red tape and bring clarity and closure to the issue. That is where Smarta Energy stepped in.
Energy billing disputes are one of the most common and most exhausting challenges for businesses. Inaccuracies go unchecked. Support teams offer generic responses, and companies are left footing the bill with no accountability in sight. What this case proves is that real advocacy matters. That data, persistence, and people-first service can change the outcome and protect businesses from unfair treatment.
At Smarta Energy, we don’t just “manage” energy. We champion our clients, challenging suppliers when needed, solving problems others can’t, and backing up our promises with action.
Outcomes and Value Delivered
For GH Burgers, this wasn’t just a billing win. It was a restoration of time, energy, and trust, resources that no business can afford to lose. Smarta Energy successfully closed the case with the following results.
Billing accuracy has been fully restored: Errors corrected, usage aligned with invoices
Compensation secured: Financial restitution won from the supplier
Administrative burden lifted: GH Burgers could return focus to its operations
Trust rebuilt: A frustrating chapter closed, with long-term stability secured

Thanks to Smarta’s forensic review and supplier escalation, GH Burgers now has accurate, compliant energy invoices. This reduces the risk of future disputes and makes their energy spending transparent and predictable, which is critical for any business managing tight margins.
Time and Resource Savings
By handling all the complex communication and negotiations with the supplier, Smarta saved GH Burgers valuable internal time. Their team no longer had to chase or escalate; they could focus on running their business.
Trusted Partnership for the Future
After this resolution, GH Burgers now has an energy consultancy they trust and can turn to for procurement, ongoing management, and support. It sets the foundation for a long-term strategic relationship, not just a one-off fix.
