Role Description:

 

We are seeking a skilled Senior Pricing Analyst to join Smarta Energy's dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the pricing function, developing competitive energy pricing strategies and ensuring optimal market positioning. From conducting in-depth market analysis to collaborating with sales, trading, and operational teams, you'll cover it all.​

With locations in Leeds and Coventry to base on you will be part of a fast pace high-turnover business with number accuracy an absolute essential.

• Salary - £30-£40,000 depending on experience.  

• Location - Leeds / Coventry  

• Holidays - 23 plus bank holidays  

• Benefits - 3 weeks off at Christmas & company holiday incentive to Barcelona.

Requirements: 

• Must have a minimum of 24 months of experience in pricing analytics within the energy TPI space

• Must understand and be confident in delivering bespoke cost analysis for Smarta customers

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around 2 years of experience working in an analytical role within the energy/utilities industry who is looking for a company where they can build a successful career in pricing.

You will manage data relating to the energy markets, in particular UK Energy – Gas and Power, relating to position/exposure/price. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Data focused role within the energy industry.  

 

Key responsibilities:  

• Analysis of UK commodity markets - Gas and Power  

• Monitoring and managing client exposures and associated risks  

• Client recommendations plus supporting rationale  

• Daily monitoring of price targets/trigger levels  

• Weekly/monthly market and position reports   

• Internal market support to the sales team  

• Tender processing and Cost Analysis  

• Communicate with energy suppliers to secure/lock in prices.   

• Liaise with clients and colleagues, negotiate daily with suppliers, and ensure timely submission of signed contracts to suppliers.  

• Maintain accurate records and filing of contracts in the company’s CRM and electronic systems.  

• Adhere to company policies, standards, and procedures, promoting a culture of innovation, openness, and honesty.

Skills and experience required:

   

• Ideally have experience working within the energy/utilities industry – billing/data   

• Strong MS Excel, comfortable analysing large sets of data for clients  

• A sound grasp of key drivers that impact energy and financial markets.   

• The ability to articulate alternative propositions and make recommendations based on sound logic and reasoning   

• Excellent written and verbal skills   

• Ideally, experience with VBA, Python or Modeling
